4P3T rotary selector switch for guitar

Hi, hoping for some assistance. Wiring 4T3P rotary as a guitar pickup selector switch. Found info showing hot inputs and hot out to output jack. Can’t find anything showing the way (lug) to ‘ground’ the switch. Appreciate any info and thanks in advance.

Not all 4P3T switches are the same. Post a sharply-focussed close pic or two of yours.
If all the pickups share a common ground, that would not need to go to the switch, although the switch mounting boss would make a good anchor point.

Thanks for the quick response! Here is a photo of the old switch,

Sir Scentral . . . . .

YOU GOT IT ! . . . . . . in the words of Roy Orbison . . .

Just confirm the Pick-up switching sequence that you were experiencing on the old unit.

Also, its not being so clear in the photo . . . . . of that area which I highlighted in PINK.
It seems that the other person just came in with the Pick-up 1 lead and used Lug BLUE A as a tie point , and that he then jumped over and connected to RED C and finally jumped over to RED A.

There is one heck of a BUNCH of Casper Pee Clodd's drop solder blobbing, utilized in the making up of those connections. . A to C to A.

The separate extremes of the amp and 2 head pick up cables ground shielding just ends at their ends with individual grounding being accomplished back at the source of those cables.
In that way, no unwanted ground loops will be introduced.

Thanks so much, that is really helpful. I would love the setup to be:
-max ccw: pickup 1 engaged
-mid position: 'both' pickup on
-max cw: pickup 2 engaged (not both)

I am assuming that this would shift the lead positions a bit, for the diagrams in the middle and far right ?

Thanks again!

Yep . . . . . this would then become your altered wiring layout . . . . .
