1977 Clock Radio Alarm sound only full volume

I purchased a 1977 Cookie Monster alarm/clock radio as a nostalgic gift for my wife.

See attached photos

There are two issues is like to fix.
1) The alarm buzzer is stuck on the loudest setting and isn't affected by the volume dial. It also sounds more harsh than it should.
And 2) the AM radio reception is poor.

Is the buzzer volume issue more likely related to bad wiring or the speaker?

And is it best to order and replace the antenna or is there a way to improve its performance?

I'm not very experienced with electronics, so please let me know if there is more information needed.

Thank you

From your pictures, I can see corrosion on the switch.
I would start with cleaning the switches and potentiometers ( volume etc) with a switch/contact cleaner.
Squirt the cleaner in the switches and then vigorously move them. Same for the pot (vol). repeat a couple of times and all should be fine.
The buzzer may bypass the volume pot and may have a Hi-Lo switch only (if any).
