WTD: Info on small antenna's at 30 and 40MHz

J

Joseph Goldburg

Hi All,

I am designing small TxRx systems at 30MHz and I am looking
at designing miniture antenna's.

Spec's
Tx power 1~10mW
Freq 1 31MHz ~ Wave length ~ 10metres
Freq 2 40MHz

Range 10 Metres

Ant can be directional

Any pointers to web sites or antenna design information in these bands
would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi Joseph -

Search this NG for antennas. You should find, for example:

Subject: How to design antenna for 433.92mhz signal?

Follow that thread. There were several links to informative sites. And,
there are other threads to be found in addition to the amateur radio antenna
NG someone gave.

Indeed. And do a search on this group for Reg Edward's site where he's
written a bunch of very useful programs that can calculate all this
sort of stuff for you.

If you're really pressed for space you might want to look
at fractal antennas. Google for "fractal antenna" (with
quotes). There's a company that patented and licenses them
for commercial use:

Another page is a student thesis on their general design:
