What output to use from signal/function generator

For a simple RC circuit, connected to an SG and an oscilloscope, what sinusoidal output should I use? If anyone could point me in the right direction it'd be much appreciated!

what do you mean by RC circuit ??

is it a capacitor charging/discharging circuit ??

oscilloscopes don't chose the output but merely displays it

It's hi-pass and lo-pass RC series circuits. We are asked what output to use from the SG (floated, earthed, 50ohm/600ohm, etc.)

regarding impedance - let me ask you a question

should the o/p impedence of a device be minimum or maximum to prevent loading ??

It should be maximum to prevent loading, right? But in this case don't we want as much voltage across the circuit as possible? Thus a low output impedance on the SG?

HINT - if you use maximum resistance all the signal will drop across it , without reaching the load [in your case the RC circuit] , so think over again
