G'day all,
Recently I bought some capacitors and other small stuff, and the
seller threw in this IC (HP 08640-67002), mumbling something like 'You
should be interested in this, it's a 20 dB amp till 18GHz'.
So, this is basically all I know about it; I think I could use it very
well, but don't know enough (though he had scratched the connections
in the IC).
It looks like an oversize TO-3 transistor (about twice the size), gold
colour, with 6 pins on the bottom side: RF in, GND, RF out and V
(44V?!)
Does anyone know what this thing is/does? Datasheets would be nice
indeed... I've had a look on the net, some people sell these for 80$,
and they are apparently used in HP signal generators (HP8672S;
HP8671B) that go up to 18GHz. Looks promising indeed...
Any info would be greatly helpful!
