Westinghouse 4k TV cycling through different colored screens.

In early 2017, I purchased a 55", 4K, Westinghouse TV, model# wd55ub4530 . Worked great for a few months. Suddenly the picture would go out, and started cycling(about 5 seconds each) through solid color screens. Red, green, blue, white, black. Sound keeps going as usual. It won't stop unless I turn TV off, and then it is seemingly random when it may get normal again. At first it was rare, then started to happen more often than not. Currently, it has been stuck in this cycle for about a week. Westinghouse won't reply to any messages. Has anyone heard of this, or know how to fix it?
Thank you.

Barely a year old. Isn't there a warranty on it? If you're anything like the UK then the warranty has to be upheld by the supplier - not the manufacturer.

There IS a warranty, but Westinghouse won't reply to any messages. Based on their message boards, to get anything done you ship it yourself, which is ridiculously expensive due to size. The store return policy ended before the problem ever surfaced.

If you touch the internals you'll void any warranty that you're legally entitled to. I don't think any modern country would allow manufacturers to ignore their legal status of upholding the warranty terms.

Check the small print and Google your legal status re warranty issues - here in the UK we can return it to the SUPPLIERS up to 5 years after purchase.......

That said, the set you have doesn't seem to be very reliable (Google the faults) but the cycling colours could be part of some built-in test procedure. Does this happen at switch-on or AFTER it's switched on?

Try using different signal source inputs to localise the fault to whatever inputs it can accept (HDMI, SCART? Composite video? VGA?). Is there any menu functionality accessible via the controller?

Most TV sets have 'secret' menus that can give more details - not sure if that code is being advertised on the web anywhere but Westinghouse may give you it if you call them 1-800-701-0680.....

Since the set is now being advertised for $299 you may just have to 'suck it up' if you're not prepared to go down the warranty route.
