voltmeter/ammeter

hi all, i'am planning on building a power supply. i;am going to use two meters(analog) for volts and amps. my question is, is the voltmeter hooked up before the ammeter or vice versa? i know the ammeter is hooked in series with output while the voltmeter is in parallel but don't know which comes first.

how many Ωs does the ammeter have?
if the resistance is low enough, then it shouldn't matter.
keep in mine that i am making a guess and dont know if i am right or not.
you will need follow-up answers

If you place the voltmeter after the ammeter, the voltmeter will read the load voltage.

However, if this is a concern, the ammeter is also going to affect voltage regulation, albeit by a small amount.

glewis, well spotted, that is the concern -- your guess was pretty good this time ;)

hi, the ammeter is 2.5k ohms. i ma. i want to scale it read 100ma, 1a. will the res value cause problems, i would guess yes. how can i overcome those problems short of using another meter.
