VGA vsDVI

Good evening everyone!
I have a question concerning my pc’s connection to my monitor. I have an old PC with an nvidia geforce GT640 card and an LG flatron L1970hq monitor.
My monitor supports only VGA and DVI. With the VGA connection I can use max resolution (1280x1024) at 75hz refresh rate but with the DVI connection I can use the same resolution but at 60hz refresh rate only.
Since I have no idea how DVI works or how LCD panels work, I would like to ask which of the two options would be better for my eyes ?

Good day !

If i use a dual link DVI-D cable instead of simple DVI-D that i use now, will there be any real difference visible ?
I quess not especially when it comes to office use.
