UL approved jerry cans?

R

Robert Morein

My local fire inspector tells me that township regulations require that
diesel fuel be stored in UL approved containers, which apparently have some
kind of antistatic protection.

Are there "jerry cans" that have this approval?

Most fuel containers you will find are UL approved,
for their intended use.
UL approved fuel containers follow a color code.
Red for gasoline.
Blue for kerosene.
Yellow for diesel.

A container only holds it's UL rating when it
is filled with the intended fuel.

During emergency situations, responding emergency personnel
can determine the contents of fuel containers at first sight.
And it allows them to take appropriate action without guessing what
types of fuel is in them.
