I have been tasked to repair a SMPS. This unit has 6 outputs. 5V, 9v, 15V, -15V, 24V and 48V.
All of the outputs under load works except the 24V.
The 24V is present under no load, but when I power up the unit under load the voltage drops to 4V. Here is the tricky part, when I power up the unit and THEN load the 24V the voltage stays 24V under load.
The output rated current is 2.1A , so I load it with a 13ohm resistor to at least load the output at 1.8A.
The board has been serviced and most of the components has been changed.
Just want a different look at this when I get time to attempt it again.
