Trying to find a project enclosure w/ Speaker and special DB9 connector

N

nc

Hello,

Let me apologize in advance if I am asking this in the wrong
newsgroup. I need to locate a black plastic project enclosure roughly
5 inches by 4 inches with a depth of approximately 4 inches. Heres the
kicker: it needs to have a built-in speaker (about a 3 inch speaker;
no bigger than 4 inch) or at least have one side of the box be a grill
to let sound out. The box also needs to have a hole or gasket to run a
wire out of. Does anybody know of a manufacturer that makes something
like this? I have looked at Digikey, Radio Shack (cringe), etc.

Thanks in advance,
nc

PS Also, does anybody know if any company makes a DB9 connector (male
on one side, female on the other) that internally shorts pins 7 and 8?

The Rat Shack has those, they just think that they're speakers and
nothing more. They'll want to sell you two, but you'll have an extra then.

Just rip off the back, install your project, drill some holes, and
you're done!

Shouldn't really need too much in the way of new holes - the speaker
leads get through somehow. :)

Cheers!
