Trouble understanding circuitry for guitar pedal project

Okay, so I have a couple questions about my pcb for my guitar pedal project. If anyone out there can help me out and explain to me whats going on that'd be great (if you need more pictures, just let me know).

1. Near the top of the schematic, there's a 2.2 M resistor, how do I connect that to the 3.3k resistor? Do I add a wire and connect it the 50K potentiometer and then have a wire coming from that to the 3.3K resistor (If this is so, please provide the legs of the pot that need to be connected)

2. Also near the top, the 680 resistor connects to ground. How do I do this?

3. Also, how do I ground the diodes shown in the middle?

Thanks! I've attached pictures of my pcb and if there are any problems with that can someone let me know. Also, I know that my soldering job is pretty bad (Sadly, I don't have the hands of a surgeon), but I think all the necessary pieces are connected correctly with the soldering bridges

All help is appreciated! Happy New Year!

Yes.

You should have a ground line on the circuit board you are building, these components will connect there.

brevor, you have no idea how pleased I am that you've got this. I suspect it's going to be a long thread. Stick with it.

4. What's a ground line? (and counting):D
You should set your board out something like the pic below. Then you have your positive and negative rails.
If your components are close enough, bend the leads and solder them directly. No need for extra wiring.

Redraw . . . .we call for a . . . . .REDRAW !

Here is a redo with a more logical signal path "flow pattern" and all of your grounds being clustered to a common buss..
You need to use audio taper pots for the gain and volume controls, or you will learn about " touchy / touchy hair trigger adjustment" if you try to use linear units in
their places.

Of the referenced cluster below, the bottom referenced unit is a linear control for the tone control function.

You may find cheaper . . . . "micro diameter sized" . . . . .or twice the price units in like premium 3/4 dia element units, like these, or the sky is the limit on some other manufacturers units.

Thanks so much!

Ed, I was going to redraw it also and then convert it to 3D view in my Tina. Unfortunately my 3D function isn't working properly, so I gave up.

Computers and software are wonderful tools when everything is working properly. When they start to do weird things I want to shoot them! :)

Good job!
