Triax TV masthead amplifier

I know this is a bit of a long shot but...
Does anybody know of a modification that will allow this unit (TMA28WU) to
run from straight 12V dc and not through a separate power supply via the
output connector?

I believe you will need to connect an appropriately valued inductor in
series with the supply. This inductance will be a S/C at DC, but O/C
at UHF/VHF frequencies.

I got another reply (different group) which said that you can make this
inductor using 10 turns of 24SWG wire on a 3mm diameter former. I don't know
if this works because the manufacturers also sent me details on a simple
modification to the circuit board which I have performed.
