My treadmill displays an E02 error code.
Stating the cause to be Over-Current protection.
Advices to check or change control board.

Can I fix this problem without changing the board entirely?

Hello, and so do we....
You will need to provide lots more information about your particular treadmill including close-up, clear photos of the control board.
The most basic form of over current protection is a fuse. Perhaps your control board has a fuse for the output drive to the motor.
