Even if you never use the parts, it's great practice for when you need to desolder something.

I just love my blue solder sucker. I have almost worn it out. The tip is getting a bit large but that is ok for when I have to desolder a large leaded component. I like to use braid on DIP ICs that have been soldered on both sides of the board. That plus some flux = a good time!!!
