I am trying to implement a smart meter which requires 4-wire, three-phase connection. While, what I have is just a single phase fan load. Thus I hope to implement the meter to monitoring the electricity consumption of the fan.
What I think to do now is:
1. I use a one-phase to three-phase source converter to get a three-phase power supply from the home power.
2. I connect the smart meter in the three phase line (L1,L2,L3) through CTs.
3. I connect the fan from one of the three-phase lines to the neutral line, for example, L1 to N.
I'm not sure about this design as I only connect one line of the three phase lines and leave the other two open circuit, in this situation, I'm not sure whether the meter can still function well and exactly get the consumption of the fan.
That's my problem and also can get some help!
