The HANTEK 5102P oscilloscope

I would be very interested in any information about this oscilloscope which I bought recently. I have been very pleased so far but I am having difficulties that I , as yet, have not found answers for:-

1) To save a screen trace I now put a memory stick in the front slot. This took some doing since the manual gives little help and the cable provided for computer access had two different plugs - one fits the scope front, the other at the rear. Since there appears to be no information about computer access (only all the wonderful things you will be able to do with it!!!) can anybody help here? I really would like to get a direct connection from scope to computer but nothing seems to work.
2) I downloaded a trace onto the memory stick and then fed this to my computer. To print the trace is takes a great deal of black ink since the screen background is black. Does anybody know if it is possible to change the background screen colour on downloaded pictures? Obviously the actual scope screen needs to be black to show up the traces.
3) Once I have achieved a decent trace on the scope I lose all the settings when I use other scope functions. I am sure there must be a way of returning to the trace but I am still looking. The manual is 80 odd pages.

It's absolutely astounding how the Chinese seem to be able to supply the world with just about any product imaginable and do it with irresistible prices. It would also seem that coherent instructions in other languages is not something they've mastered yet, nor something that they loose sleep over. :)

Check out Youtube to see if any users have made a video review.

as for question 2 what type of file does it make?
if its a simple picture than you can edit the colours.

There is plenty of stuff online for you to look at and maybe download and actually read. The 5102P is part of the 5000 series of Hantek Digital Storage Oscilloscopes. The Hantek website has all the information you need.

You connect the 'scope to a USB port on your computer using the connector on the rear of the 'scope. You also have to download and install a program and a driver for the USB port. Once all this is done, you can play with the 'scope settings from your desktop (or laptop) computer. You can change the print screen background on your PC monitor to white with the traces and grid in black so you don't use up a ton of ink printing. You can save the "scope screen" to a PDF file. The front-panel USB port is for a memory stick, as you have discovered, and screen images are saved in .BMP (bit-mapped) format. I don't know if black traces on a white background can be saved or not. There are plenty of You Tube videos for this exact model 'scope, but none that I have found so far that explain how to use the computer interface, so good luck with that.
