Test Fixture patch bay Diodes?

On test fixtures , they have a patch bays that has multiple jacks on the front panel

What does these diodes do? the diodes are in series

If you plug the wrong jacks together, how does these diodes protect the text fixture?

If a tech injected a Positive voltage into a jack , how would a series diode protect the text fixture?
If a tech injected a Negative voltage into a jack, how would a series diode protect the test fixture?

You need to supply more information:
- What kind of patch bay is this?
- What are the test fixtures used for?
- Where does the DC voltage (left side of your pictures) come from?
- Where does the right side (patch bay jack) go to?
- Why would someone "inject" a voltage on the patch bay jack's side? The power seems to be supplied from the left (DC voltage).

here is the pictures of the patch bays on the test fixture

Also I don't know the names of the size of the red and yellow patch bay cables and plugs are called, do you guys know?

But each jack on the patch bay has a series diode soldered to the jack to a wire that does to the test fixture

The Series diode is to protect the test fixture, but how so?

If the patch cable is in the wrong test fixture jack to another jack it will damage the test fixture, the series diode protects the test fixture from wrong connections

Some Test fixture tests have +15 vdc, -15vdc, other AC and DC voltages
