Technika sound bar not working

Hi folks

Id be greatful if somebody could help me repair this technika sound bar model tksb212 i am pretty new to electronics so bare with me please .
Basically when i switch on the power i hear the speaker noise but no sounds from the tv and the lcd panel in the bar does not light up .

Any ideas ? Hopefully its a simple common fault
