Teac AG-V8050

I have a Teac AG-V8050 that has worked ever since it was purchased. After watching the news Tuesday night we turned off the TV and then the Teac unit just as has been done for years. Wednesday night we turned on the TV and then the Teac amplifier. Nothing! No sound. Not on any of the inputs, e.g. tuner, CD player, etc. Not even the test tone. Everything appeared normal, just no sound. After trying everything in the Trouble Shooting section to no avail, we gave up and turned up the sound on the TV. Any suggestions? Would appreciate it. Thanks.

Fuses?
Mains cord?
Any signs of life on the TEAC, any indicators lit (other than "no sound")?
What is your experience in repairing electronics? Do you have at least a multimeter for some basic testing?

Sir jtaylor . . . . .

Looks like the AC line power wiring goes direct to a small board that has a fuse on it YELLOW MARK UP amd there is also a series power switch involved PINK MARKUP , ***but that varies with multiple 120 / 240V line voltage wiring's . . . as being shown in dotted lines rectangles.
Lets presume that switch to be good.

Also on the main board, there may be one or two fuses, but, that 1 or 2 also is being dependent upon ***.
Find all fuses and either visually inspect , or take ohmmeter readings across the pulled fuse.
If using visual . . . can you see the / a small break in the end to end fuse link inside ?
That's a soft blow and you might chance changing, with a like fuse.

OR . . . . if the link is totally blown open or even worse, blackened inside the glass .
That's being a HARD blow !
Don't even THINK about replacing, before consulting with us for a preliminary test procedure.
