I've been chasing this problem around for a while now.
This thing shutsdown immediately after power up.
(I checked the mode sw. first off)
The smps is operating. There's 5 volts on the main board.
The HOT is getting B+ and has a nice clean waveform at the
collector during start up.
I did a ringing test on the flyback and the yoke windings /OK
Checked diodes, resistors, chokes and electro. caps on both main and high
voltage board.
When I unsolder a horz. winding, the set powers up without
shutdown, vcr plays nicely ???? !!!
I'm hoping that someone has a print on this one..
