Stupid question of the day!

Hi all,
Want to use a four prong tactile switch on a board. Not sure how one would know pin number by looking at them. Also, how would one know how to assemble board (through hole) from a board design? Is there a way to know which is pin one and which is pin four by looking at it and how does assembler know.

If you are talking about the PCCT 4 pin SP PB they always have continuity across each of the wide pairs, when pushed both these wide pairs are connected together.
