Stub at transition line

Hi everyone i'm new here. i'm a student third year at electrical engineering,
I'm created an Extender card which only have a backplane connector (male) which connect to the machin and then i put
the card i want to test via a hooks TPs(352 TPs).

Someone can explain me about a stub and how to prevent it?

Thx u all:)

A stub is a piece of PCB trace that connects to the side of another PCB trace that's on the same net, there is also a via stub which is the part of the via between the second trace and the other side of the PCB or it's finishing layer. Stubs can cause problems with signal integrity due to reflections of the signal coming back from an un-terminated stub or a stub with a different termination method or impedance than the main transmission line. To prevent it don't connect anything to the side of the trace and don't change layers. If you could be more specific about your design and post some pictures or drawings then I could be more specific.

Thanks
Adam
