Speed control of single phase induction motor? VFD ???

I have an induction motor that is off a small 4x6 bandsaw. It is 240v 50Hz.

What type of speed controller do I need to run an induction motor like this at a slower rpm?

That controller is for a 3ph motor only and is very low quality.
1ph induction motors do not run off of variable frequency control due to drop out of run at low rpm or on load.
This is why you very rarely see any on the market.
Your alternative is to obtain a quality VFD (e.g. Hitachi etc) and 3ph motor and power it off of 240v 1ph.

just keep in mind saturation of motor core is a function of Vs product or V/f ratio.

Mitsubishi are nice but expensive, I was registered as a Mitsubishi CNC retro-fitter and at that time Mits used to 'dump' last yrs models on ebay for 10c on the $. I used to pick them up by the 10 to a pallet.
BTW, I had to convert my Craftsman band saw as it was only one speed.
One of the highest quality in the cheaper range is the Hitachi.
