Soundesign Stereo volume problems

I have a Soundesign brand stereo model no. 5943, computer no. 5943 BUL . When I am using the auxiliary input only one channel works unless i press and hold in the aux. button on the front controls. When using the tape player FM and AM radio and 8 track both channels work. What could be the problem?

After looking inside the stereo I have figured out that there seems to be a problem with the switch that changes inputs. Is there anything that can be done to fix this or would this need to be replaced? And where could i find replacement parts?

You might be able to simply spray said switch with some contact cleaner, even if it's enclosed if you can find a few holes to spray into and let drain... Let is dry all the way before you power the unit back up... If the switch is fully sealed you might have to replace it....

the switch assembly has 4 different switches for the 4 different inputs. these are connected to a little circuit board. and i would say they are open and not sealed. also the switch for the aux input is just slightly different from the other three. from what i can tell that has to do with the mechanism that flips off one switch when another is pushed on. It seems like the problem might have to do with that mechanism. Hope that made some sense.
