This is an intermittent problem with my 32" Wega (KV32FS100.) After a
period of watching, the picture will start to fade in and out to red.
The red never totally takes over, but will kind of pulse in and out.
Sometimes, it'll do that three or four times, then go away. Other
times, and more frequently now, it'll do that, then lose most of the
picture, going to a purplish-blue pic with diagnoal lighter lines. You
can still see the source picture faintly behind that, but it's not
watchable. Once it's done that, switching inputs will sometimes fix
the trouble, sometimes for the rest of the night, but sometimes only
for a couple minutes. Powering off seems to fix it as well, though I
haven't given it time to see if leaving it off longer keeps the
problem away longer.
Last hint, when this problem occurs and I power down, I see the
"Stand-by" light flashing. It flashes five times, pauses then repeats.
Assuming I'm going to bring a tech in to fix this, what things should
I tell him to look for? Up to this point, I've really liked this set,
and any help you can offer will be much appreciated. TIA!
