Sony SLV 595HF Hook UP

Hi

Have hooked up the SLV 595HF thru Line Out to In of TV with no other
connections. This works perfectly for Playbacks. Is this hookup OK for
recordings? The VCR displays recording but nothing records.

Do I need to hook something else up - thru Line IN.

Your VCR will require the line in to be hooked up to record from base-band
video. For this you will require a base-band video source with the audio
follow. If you want to record from the tuner of the VCR, then you must
connect the cable feed, and select through the VCR's options to record from
the tuner.

Depends...want do you want to record? Be very specific, as in:
"from a vcr" "from cable" "from a tv antenna" etc.

Thanks for your responese. Iam trying to record from a DVD player that
is hooked up via the component input of the TV(along with audio
connections). The VCR is connected to one of the inputs of the TV.

Have also tried connecting the ouput of the TV to Line in of VCR.
Doesn't work.

Any ideas!

The signal path should be from the DVD player to Line-In of the vcr. Most
dvd's employ copy protection to keep you from making usable copies.
