Sony camcorder problem CCD-TR5, no video output

Dan

I have a Sony camcorder. It is an old CCD-TR5.
It doesn't get used much as most house hold camcorders don't.

It just developed a problem. I can take a video and play it back and view it through the view finder. The video image will not come out of the video out port . I tried RCA cables and also the Sony adapter to view on channel 3 or 4 on the tv. The sound is fine. Just no video ! I tried a multitude of cables. It isn't a cable problem. I tried different tv's and vcr inputs. It is the camers itself.

What causes the video port to fail ?

Thanks.

Not ALL of the caps that are bad on this CCD-TR5 camcorder are SMD type
caps. There are Radial and PC Mount caps that go bad in this camcorder. I
don't DO "kits". I replace the caps on the boards...if you don't the ones
that you have not replaced will go bad in a few months anyway.

Bad Caps. Sounds like a problem that plagues me on my Panasonic vcr...

Any way.
Do you know how many caps are on the pcb? Also, how hard is it to take apart to get at the pcb.
Last question.
Where do I buy the caps and/or is there a "cap kit" I can buy like for my Pan vcr?

Cheers.

Thank you for the response.
How much is it to buy all the caps needed to fix this?
Do you have them in stock?

Anyone feel like making a couple bucks to fix this for me?
