solar AAbattery and USB charger

I hope someone out there speaks newb cause i can't draw you a diagram so here it goes.
I was wondering if i could make this work to charge AA batteries and USB devices.
2x 9v, 70mA solar panels---diode---12v regulator--- 8AA battery pack (1.2 rechargeable,2500mAh)--- diode--- on/off switch--- 5v regulator--- female USB port.

specs of regulator ?
u using 9volts panels and 12 volts regulator ? are u seriesing the 2 panels ?
70mA is too little .. and the 2500mah nim i assume should be repaced by a low self discharge cells..
or better use some liion ..

how abbout parralleling both panels and attaching a diode and dirrectly connecting two series ed liion cells like 18650 .. tlet others comment on the idea as well byt with out a dedicated charging controller its not good with lkiion and liion needs much care.

5v regulator is com00107 and have not ordered the 12v regulator yet.
Yes I was going to put the panels in series but wasn't sure if it would charge the batteries.
If I put them in parallel I will that give me enough voltage and mA to charge?
