Single phase to three phase motor

Hello,
I have one single phase motor about 3kW, and how I can wire that motor inside to turn it to three phase delta or wye without rewinding?

I'm surprised. Usually AC motors => 4HP are commonly 3PH because the start current on a 1PH motor becomes a breaker tripping extreme.

I have a 5.5hp and 7hp compressors, both single phase 230V.
One is a single cylinder and the other is a twin. Both have 200ltr tanks.
Noisy as hell when filling but nice units!..

Some products have misleading marketing that claims a higher HP to make it sound better.
Read the small print and you may find it's actually "peak horse power developed" not true HP.
So your 7HP compressor may be driven with a 2HP motor.

To be honest, I have never read the small print..Nor ever really understood CFM! But another day!
I do have a 3hp with a 100ltr tank in my old bedroom, 2 metres away! and the motor is a lot smaller than my others..Again, doesn't mean much!

EDIT: Sorry Minder, they are in my garage and not accessible at the moment.

I am pretty sure that I have quoted the large 'in your face' plates.
I am probably wrong though!

Interesting!!!!!

Air compressors for the home or small shop have been advertised and sold with ridiculously inflated horsepower ratings. In 2004, the US government said it would enforce more honest ratings (see the end of this essay), but after a few years the nonsense returned to the marketplace and continues today. The specs and stickers on the unit likely do not tell the truth, and add confusion instead of critical information to buying decisions. But you do not need a testing laboratory to calculate true horsepower or CFM delivered. I will explain below how to estimate these ratings from pressure readings and elapsed time measurements.
