simple radio amplification

hey guys ...i was hoping that you would help me with something. i am thinking of building a simple radio transmitter, but i was wondering if i could amplify the RF to microwave so that i can send the signal straight to the mountain (antennas) instead of broadcasting from that point...

Microwave is not a power level.

Microwave transmissions are frequencies between a couple and tens of GHz

What are you actually trying to do?

and I have moved the thread to general chat as it has nothing to do with microprocessors etc

Frequency can be amplified the same way that 2:30 in the afternoon can be amplified.

yea so is it possible to amplify it to microwave

you are still not understanding what Steve told you earlier
The microwave frequencies are still RF. just a different part of the EM spectrum

you still haven't clearly told us what you are trying to achieve

but i was wondering if i could amplify the RF to microwave so that i can send the signal straight to the mountain (antennas) instead of broadcasting from that point...

^ this really doesn't make a lot of sense ^
why do you think you send a microwave signal to the mountain top instead of say a VHF or UHF signal ?
do you understand what VHF and UHF mean ?
What do you intend to do with your signal up on the mountain top ?

ok iam doing a project of a simple radio station ( will send the circuit diagram) and this radio only broadcasts 200 metres ...i also want to make a simple receiver .but how will i send the signal to the receiver ...iam working at a radio station and i know that the only way of sending signal to the receiver which is far away without any radio recognising the signal is though microwave

ok iam doing a project of a simple radio station ( will send the circuit diagram) and this radio only broadcasts 200 metres

so if it is only broadcasting ~ 200 metres, why put it on a hill/mountain top ?
what is it going to be transmitting ? music? data ? something else ?

...i am working at a radio station and i know that the only way of sending signal to the receiver which is far away without any radio recognising the signal is though microwave

yes that is one way :)
and so far, it's the only thing you have said that actually has some meaning
there's just too many gaps in the info on the other info you have supplied

I am trying hard to understand what you are wanting to do so I can help you, but it is difficult

1) where is the planned microwave link coming from and going to ?
2) what is at the source of the microwave link ? eg ... a broadcast studio ?
3) what is at the receiving end of the microwave link ? eg ... a microwave receiver and a transmitter on another frequency with all the associated
interfacing equipment that will be needed ?

I suspect you don't really realise how complex a link like this is and with the lack of knowledge you have so far displayed, I also suspect it is way out of your abilities as an achievable goal

what RF engineering skills do you have ?
do you have skilled RF technicians that can build this for you ?
do you have LOTS of money to buy the linking equipment, new or second hand ?
do you have the required transmitting licences that you government may require ?

Yeah, just build a low power fm transmitter and use a normal fm radio. Not necessarily legal, depending where you are, but simple.

thanks for getting what iam saying.iam a student at kwekwe poly college and you know what that means...
number 1 lack of knowledge ..
.iam studying electronic communication systems which is radio comms ,and the only way i can understand these things is by actually building them and that what i want to do
and if this works i will make this my final project

number 2 ...you and i dont have to worry about licence because in this country (most countries)if you are still a student you can build anything you want

iam willing to handle all the expense this might cost
thanks again for getting what iam saying

Really? I'd call bulldust on that.

Whatever... Just google for some circuits.

However you may better spend your time studying so you can understand some basic theory.

Yes

Type www.google.com into your browser's address bar and press enter.

Then, when the google page appears, type "fm transmitter circuit" and press enter.
