Sim card extension socket

Hello,

I have one of these (along with lots of other bits and pieces)

http://www.coolcomponents.co.uk/catalog/module-p-714.html

It is currently inside a large box

On one side of the board there is a up and over sim card socket.

I am looking for hopefully something off the shelf that will allow me to plug one end into the existing sim card socket and panel mount the other end on the outside of the box so the user can change the sim card easily without having to open the lid of the box and poke around inside.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Should be as simple as getting a sim card socket and wiring it 1 for 1 with the one that is already on the board...

From the same site you linked, looks to be only 6 wires...

If you want something already done Google or Ebay, 'sim card extender' and you will find a nifty little flexible flat cable that drops right into the existing sim socket and has a new socket on the other end...

In theory that is correct....

The trouble is I need some kind of robust mounted socket so the user can slide the sim through the outside of the case

Sim card and robust are contrary...

Unless you want to design your own socket you are going to have to accept the fact they are not real robust...

Get a 'sim card breakout board' then the socket will at least be mounted to a PC board you can affix to the wall or whatever...
