I'm planning to build a serious 220V 50Hz to 28V 15A(min.) smart charger for lead-acid batteries.
And, to be frank, I have no idea where to start. I would appreciate any suggestions on this topic.
Smart term in this case means that the voltage will fluctuate, from 28V (which will be constant voltage potential if battery is good) to 32V (if battery is "dead" and the charger will rise voltage to this point to try to revive the battery).
The current source and drivers should be SMPS but, as mentioned, with approach to soar the voltage.
So, what PSU type you recommend, which SMPS controllers, flyback, transformers, MOSFETs, IGBTs, maybe a MCU based psu?
