Sencore TF46 Testing

I just purchased a TF46. Seems to work on checking a transistor, but I hook it up to a diode and get nothing. At first I used the red and yellow. Would that have hurt it? How can I test the tester to make sure it is ok?

Have you got the operating manual for it?

You can Google it and download one for free if you haven't got one.

Yes I downloaded it. Doesn't really tell you what not to do. It seems like it is idiot proof.

Use that same transistor that you tested . . . .considering that it passed.

Take its BASE to EMITTER junction and test it with both polarity possibilities that will be presented by your use of the RED and YELLOW test leads.
Then do the same test again with BASE to COLLECTOR.
