Sanyo DS25330

DEBORAH ECK

I have a Sanyo DS25300 that won't turn on. It will click on, then click
back off (The relay). No power is being supplied to the Flyback (as far as
I know). Since it was inexpencive, I replaced the Flyback, and still no
luck Prior to this the Picture tube had thin green lines running across the
tube, slightly at an angle but had a good picture (You only noticed the
lines, when it was a dark picture). However, i did slightly notice it had
slightly darkened in brightness about two weeks before it's death. Wife was
watching the TV, and she said it just turned off. Now it don't do nothing
(except the click of the relay). Am I correct on thinking that the Tube is
gone?

Thanks in advance, Rick

It sounds like the CRT may have died (may be going internally shorted), and
the HOT may also be damaged. If this is the case there may be other damage
as well. Usually when these parts go defective, there are other support
components that also fail.

All would have to be properly checked out to verify.

Well, that was my idea. Will wait to see if anyone else has any other
suggestions. I was just hoping that the fading picture was because the
Flyback was going out. But it was the worst of the evils.

BTW, what is the Definition HOT? What part of the TV does "HOT" refer to?

Remove your Horizontal Output Transistor. Make sure it's good.

Fire the set up and verify proper B+ voltage on the collector pad.

Set may just be shutting down due faulty 125V B+ supply

Also..........your green retrace may have been just an adjustment issue ( G2
or Green cutoff)

Got access to a CRT tester?

Well, I decided to just NIX the unit. I don't have the equipment that I
used to have about 10 years ago, when I worked on electronics. And I am not
about to go out and buy it all over an 11 year old TV. I do have another
Sanyo TV that has a bad tuner, that the one from this TV will work on the
other. So I am going to part out the TV that Craped out on me, and fix the
other one. Within one week, both Sanyo TV's went out on me. But the
smaller one was because my wife kept beating on it to get it to work, and my
Laziness to get up and fix it. Just it is hard to watch a little 19" from
the Bedroom, when you are used to watching a 25". Just will have to break
open the wallet, and get a new one...:) LOL

Thanks for everyone's help
Rick
