OK . . . .then . . . .more conservatively . . . .sometimes a little tap-a, tap-a,tap-a on the chassis PCB in that area, using a small plastic
screwdriver handle, can reveal an intermittent solder/to /component connection.

One end of the vertical deflection coil will be connected to the IC, the other to an electrolytic capacitor. Check the capacitor.
