Resistor for ring doorbell

My ring doorbell rings the chime (digital) when it charges the battery (hard wired to doorbell). Apparently the door chime is too efficient and the small amount of current triggers the chime. Is it possible to install a resistor to lower the current to the chime?

Sounds like you have an intermittent short circuit or possibly some moisture in the wiring.

A resistor won't help. What make/model is the system? What kind of wire are you using between push-button and chime? What length is this wire?

2/20 solid 15' . It only rings when there is an event ( motion detection doorbell ring) then the ring sends current to charge the rings battery (vampireing). But it is too much current and it triggers the chime
