Speakers:
AVID 105 (Circa 1976), three way, air suspension, internal volume
approximately 2.8 SQFT , 8 ohm impedence, flat (- 3dB) to 30 hz. 200
watts RMS (program), one watt white noise = SPL 83 dB at 1m.

Current woofer is described as 12" high-compliance with butyl surround,
1.25" peak to peak excursion, 2.5 Lb ceramic magnet.

Would like to get as close a replacement as possible to retain original
charecteristics, not necessarily "better".

Any suggestions?

Please reply to the group. Thanks

I may end up calling for advice, their web based speaker selector
doesn't work for my cabinet dimensions. Also, my speaker has 1.25" peak
to peak excursion. I don't see any on their site with that large an
excursion.

An x max of 1.25" in that old of speaker? Something does not
smell right here. I would call Orange County Speaker in California
and see if they can recone it.

Is X max expressed as peak to peak or only in one direction? This
speaker says Peak to Peak 1.25" (or 31.8 mm) excursion. That was the
spec back in 1976. How would that equate to X max today??
