Relay for switching from one power source to another

Hi,

I am looking for some kind of relay switch which will allow me to connect an appliance (pond pump) so that i can switch from one power source to another. I have used a ceiling fan speed control to enable to reduce the flow rate of the pump.
I'd like to set something up so during the day the pump is running normally off the mains supply, and then at night the relay switches over to the supply with the ceiling fan speed control in the circuit (which I will have turned to a low flow). Im in the UK so 240V 50Hz single phase mains. The pump is 110W, about 3 amps.

Any ideas of suitable relay switches very welcome!

If you are using the same power supply (mains) for both speeds, all you need is a single pole changeover switch as used in two way lighting. The neutral would be common to both speeds.
