Please confirm if the way it works is :
When applying 120V to arrows, the PTC starter is cold and passes current to winding S (start) in addition to current flowing trough winding M (main or run)
A few seconds later the PTC heats up and conducts much less current to winding S. Being the run capacitor also in series with winding S, some current flows trough the capacitor to winding S.
When the compressor runs, the winding M is energized and the winding S is partially energized because of the paralleled impedance and resistance in series to winding S.
Any excessive current would open the protector and no current would flow.
