Welcome to Thomson support!

Your best bet is to take the unit to an ASC for Thomson and get an estimate.
When it comes back ridiculously high call customer relations and try to get
some accomodation. These sets are definitely not user serviceable, even if
you have some electronics knowledge. They have been, according to the
Thomson techs I have spoken to, rather unreliable and costly to fix. RCA
has replaced some sets due to lack of replacement parts.

You might as well send it to a Thomson premier servicer that is fully
equipped to work on the set.
Thomson does not even want authorized shops to work on the HDTV sets unless
they go to ALL the Thomson HDTV training on the chassis designs. After
seeing the troubleshooting problems with that particular model, you are
better served to either go to Thomsons training on the set, invest in ALL
the required equipment (around $4,500) and bite the bullet if you intend on
repairing HDTV sets in the future.

Sorry but I totally agree!! These sets, using the DTV306/307 Chassis, are an
absolute PAIN to repair. Unless you have the correct Thompson Service
Literature, including the detailed troubleshooting and diagnostics
available, you will be shooting at a Big Dog in the dark. Recommend having
both sets taken to a facility that has serviced many of these particular
products, having them quote the customers an estimate of repair costs, then
let the customers make a decision. There are at least four discrete power
supply systems and three micro controllers that must be totally functional
within these teles to be able to have them even completely power on, let
alone receive a signal via either the antennea or video ports.
