Vertical distortion at top of screen.Everything else okay.R14509 is white .It's located near vert. out i.c.

replace all electro capacitors around the vert output circuitry, does that resistor look white cuz its cooked ? is is that its natural colour ? can you read its colour banding?

show us a clear pic of that area of the circuit board

I can read resistor.It's on the 12v line from flyback and goes to grd.I will replace the caps.I have a new i.c. but will replace as a last resort.

Sorry about that.I'll plug away at this.Just for your info.It's an RCA CTC203 chassis.I look on it as a challenge.It's mainly for sentimental reasons.Thanks for your reply.
