Radio to mp3 player conversion.

Greetings!
I found a old Philips radio in the basement and would like to turn it into a mp3 player.
My problem is that I don't know where to tap the input.
The chip used in the radio is LA4160. there's a schematic in the datasheet and i tried in a few points but with zero success.
Please help.
Thanks.

At the volume control is the usual place.

Apply your input directly across it - might need a capacitor to block DC, depends on the schematic. Can you post it?

The datasheet shows the input of the LA4160 to be pin 9. Input your audio signal via a series resistor or attenuator on that pin.
Pin 9 is through the pre-amp. The MP3 device is likely to not require pre-amplification and the main amplifier input is via pin 4. Plus it's easier to find the volume control!

thanks I will try it at volume control and pin 4 as well thanks.
