Are you referring to a SNES console or just the replacement cartridge connector? If you have an otherwise working SNES just replace the cartridge connector. If you're looking for a complete console I'd probably go for new over old. The electrolytic capacitors in an original unit are probably near the end of their life expectancy. Just my opinion
