Mike
friend of mine gave me as a housewarming gift a new TED
(http://theenergydetective.com/frameset.asp) unit
it also came with the manual which I did read carefully but can use a little help.
my main switch is outside with overhead line (150 amp service) and in the garage I
have two mains feeding into a split Square-D breaker panel (of the breakers, half the
rooms & appliances on one side, the other half on the other side)
breaker panel is mostly 20amp, few 15amp, with the bigger appliances using 30,40 or
60amp double breakers
It's my understanding the toroid coils connect to the two mains on the panel bottom
(one main feeds one side, other main the other side)
is there some other connection also made into one of the breakers and if so, does it
matter if I pick a 15amp or 20amp?
thanks for any pointers in case someone has installed a TED unit, I'm not totally an
idiot when replacing breakers but just wanted to be sure I do this the correct way and
the pictures in the manual don't precisely match my Square-D panel
