Question about my android, it's charging but not through the DC plug only through the USB port

I have a 7' Android tablet whose battery I had replaced and still fails to charge through the regular supply, so I thought I would replace the charger, as it charges through the USB port alone.

I am not sure if the old battery was replaced without checking that it was working to be honest, are such equipment available for sale?

Any 5VDC power supply will charge the tablet if its connector has the correct polarity and enough current.
