QI chargers for multimeters

My wife just bought a new phone which has a "wireless charger".

Whilst doing some investigation, I noted that the receiver coils are cheaply priced and the thought occurred to me that it would be possible to replace the battery in a multimeter with a small lithium cell and a charger based on these coils.

I even wonder if I could use a supercap and just run the multimeter from a stored charge. I'm generally not interested in it running for hours at a time, and having it resting on a charging pad when I need that would be fine.

(Supercaps have the benefit of not being damaged if allowed to run flat, unlike many batteries. Also they're easier to charge and don't explode)

Hmmm....

I wonder whether you want the rf from the charger waver through the circuit under inspection on your workbench?

A valid point, and I had considered that I would have to test if it had some effect on the test equipment.

The other possible problem was if I used a switchmode regulator to maintain a constant "battery" voltage, whether the ripple on the supply would affect the readings.
