QAM Demodulation?

I have been looking into QAM modulation because I am trying to build a transmitter that can send multiple analogue channels on a single carrier wave.

I understand the concept of QAM modulation, but can someone please explain how to demodulate the signal?

Here is an idea of what is involved in QAM demodulation (www.wirelesscommunication.nl/pdfandps/qam.pdf). As for explaining how to do it, I would recommend buying a QAM demod chip.
