ptc thermistor

can i use a fuse type ptc thermistor as a power tool ( drill )
heat sensor..so the charging process ceases when the battery pack
reaches the permitted max temperature allowed by the charger circuitry

the charging stops when the thermistor exceeds appx 600R
 
What you do is your business but messing around with charging processes can be either passive (simply doesn't work) or 'active' (where the battery explodes in a spectacular fashion) which is why most chargers - certainly for modern chemistry batteries - are made with some form of 'intelligence' about them i.e. they monitor charge status as well as cell temperature to regulate the charging process.

Your suggestion seems too simple to be safe and is something I wouldn't recommend either for safety reasons or for longevity of the battery.
 
i am not suggesting anything i want to replace a faulty thermistor
please read the post....and what i do is my business...

can i replace a 'switching' ptc thermistor with a resetting 'fuse' type

any sensible info would be appreciated

@kellys_eye was setting you on the correct path, you would do well to pay heed to what he said .....

CAN I REPLACE A SWITCHING PTC THERMISTOR WITH A RESETTING
FUSE TYPE.. AS A HEAT SENSOR IN AN ELECTRIC DRILL POWER PACK
