Presynthesized PCB Problem

Hello guys.

I have a presynthesized PCB and my circuit layout printed on an acetate. My setup is the PCB at the bottom, then the circuit layout, then a glass.

The problem is that the acetate with the printed circuit was placed facing the glass instead of the PCB.

Is it still possible to erase it?

Have you exposed it to light yet? If it has been exposed properly to light, it cannot be erased. By "facing", I am assuming you mean the toner or ink used to print the acetate was against the glass.

That said, are you sure you need to reverse/flip the positive image (acetate)? Can you post a picture of the PCB board you want and the acetate looking at the ink side?

Finally, is it through hole construction or SMD? If TH, you may save the project by mounting the components on the "wrong" side.

BTW, I rarely comment on misspelled words, but in this case, the title of your post may mislead others to not even look at it.

You mean "presensititzed", not presynthesized.

John

Edit: I forgot to add that the electrical connections on a mirrored board are the same as on a non-mirrored one. But, the board may look a little funny. I did that once and printed out the .brd file as a mirror image to help place components. It makes no difference for 2-lead devices. For 3-leads, you can usually bend the center lead to make a mirrored part. It is with IC's and such that the mirrored board will create a problem. As I implied above, for TH there is a ready solution. For SMD, you are up the creek.
